Taghkanic Board unfair to Residents Paul Nostrand and Richard Graham. Resident Paul Nostrand, who was accused by Barbara Hermance of verbal attacking her and causing her to feel threaten at last months meeting, submitted a document of rebuttal to the Board. In shocking turn of events the Board refused to read the rebuttal to the public. It seem that the Town Board will allow Hermance to assassinates the good character of one of our finest residents but when the victim comes before for the Board for rebuttal, the Board turns a deaf ear and refuses to let the statement of the victim be heard. "I am a miff Paul, that the Board took this type of action against you." Mr. Nostrand was not alone in his dilemma. Richard Graham was accused in a Zoning Board report by Chairperson Barbara Hermance as being a no-show at the February 20th Zoning Board meeting, that was held on a legal holiday. However a document obtain through legal channels shows that Hermance was notified, by her special town counsel Rob Fitzsimmions, that Graham would not be appearing at the request of his counsel. The letter was faxed to Hermance on February 16, 2006, three days before the Zoning Board meeting and 19 days before her report was read at the Town Board meeting. The Town Board took pain staking efforts to cover up these deliberate assaults by Barbara Hermance without allowing residents to defend their good names. Hermance as used these tactics for years for the purpose of destroying the reputations of residents by smearing their names in the public record, which by the way, is part of a historical record now. We might ask ourselves where the hell is our official news paper "The Independent" when this is going on and is the Reporter for the "Register Star" deaf or on the pay off.?

Town Boards Attorney pleads the 5th for Rochler and Hermance The question remains what is the Town of Taghkanic covering up? Again Mr. Graham ask about the e-mails that Zoning Board Chair, Barbara Hermance and Board member Robert Rochler sent to the Towns attorney in regard to Graham's application before the Board. The Town Board members one and all refused to discuss the issue. How serious is the issue? Is there criminal activity on the part of the Board members? Was there a malicious intent on the part of Hermance and Rochler to cause harm to the applicant? You can bet that when Town officials take this type of stance there was wrong doing and probable some criminal activity as well. How can we as resident trust any public officials that are keeping secret records on us. We have a town Board who can demand that Hermance, Rochler and the Towns attorney Fitizsimmons surrender the e-mails in order to root out those that would use their authority to harm, us but they don't. They could dismiss the Town attorney as well as Rochler and Hermance for not complying, but they don't. What are we as citizen to do? Sit here and take it?. How can we expect a Board who would allow this type of behavior to guide us into the future.? Do we really want the Towns foremost land developer Barbara Hermance zoning up the town for sale while using her position as a public official to attack anyone who doesn't agree with her agenda.? Do we want a N.Y.S. cop like Robert Rochler, AKA 'Rocky' turning our town into a police state and performing illegal background check on the residents.? Just think, if the town attorney who is protecting two corrupt official won't gave applicants e-mails that are directly related to them what else is the Board hiding from us. Can we now trust the Board at all.? The question we should be asking ourselves right now is, do we really want to pay the cost of the attorneys fees for two corrupt and vicious individuals like Hermance and Rochler and for a Towns attorney that ill informs the Boards.
